After showing you the first pictures of HiREC in action, here is our first video of it being used in the deep sea!
InnetiQs developed HiREC technology for flexible Riser Inspection, which is based on high-resolution, field-focused eddy current technology for detecting cracks in flexible pipes, such as those caused by stress corrosion cracking induced by CO₂ (SCC-CO₂). This qualified technology is the first to detect this critical type of flaw, and is therefore a major technical achievement in supporting the intensive assessment of flexible pipe integrity.
It was an exciting moment for our team when the subsea crawler was used for the first time in real conditions at a depth of over 2,000 metres. The video shows how reliably and flexibly HiREC inspects flexible risers and flowlines.
We are extremely proud of our R&D team for successfully developing the technology, and of our field team for successfully applying it with the robotic crawler system in deep-sea field applications.
